Ladies, for those who’ve experienced this, when did your relationship shift from verbal to physical abuse? Was it a gradual progression, and were there any red flags along the way?
What is your and your partners ethnicities and do you feel cultural factors or norms may have influenced their behavior in any way?
If you were pregnant during the relationship, did that have any effect on the dynamics or behavior?
Have you noticed any repeating patterns or cycles that could serve as warning signs for others?
Lastly, is your partner diagnosed with or have they shown traits of narcissistic personality disorder or any other cluster B personality disorder?

I have first hand experience of a narcissistic partner who's physically violent, and I’m just looking to learn from others experiences and perspectives as I write a paper and possible article in honor of Domestic Violence Awarness month.

Please feel free to share your thoughts in whatever format you’re most comfortable with.

Like as a women myself, the topic about "female victims" pisses me off so much, especially because a lot of the women I encountered used it as an excuse to justify the bullshit they pulled, so that way if you try to hold THEM accountable for what they did, you'll get bashed on for it. Happens so much to the point I don't even believe "victims" anymore. HELL, it's also why a lot of male victims go completely unchecked for and never speak up about their abuse themselves.

That means that in the majority of violent relationships, they are both are violent to each other. When it comes to unilateral interpersonal violence, the woman is the perpetrator 80% of the time. Men are actually victimized at a 4 times the rate at the hands of women. And it is NEVER talked about. Even you are parroting the same bullshit lies that there are vastly more female victims of domestic violence by men.

I see everyone posting here trying to raise awarness of physical violence against men by women, saying things such as, "women initiate physical violence" "80 percent of men are on the receiving end of physical violence by women" and so on.. I have a single question though...

When I worked at a DV shelter, my female client was taken to jail at the same time as her male abuser. When they were both released (both still had charges of abuse) my client had a broken arm, black eye, scratches, bruises ribs. etc. he had a small scratch on his face from when she tried to get him to stop strangling her.
Under these stats, would both be considered abusers ?

People may colloquially refer to any act like slapping, scratching, pushing, etc as "abuse" but the sociological definition includes an imbalance of power.

I'd much rather be slapped by a woman, than punched or even slapped by a man. There's a magnitude of difference in strength and power there and I'm a man myself.

Also "mutual violence" alot of the time refers to victims of domestic violence fighting back instead of just taking a beating.

Also, just to make it clear I'm by no means saying that it's okay for a woman to beat on a man. I'm just saying the power dynamic isn't even comparable and most of the time women fighting back is seen as "mutual abuse".
