Who is Jefrey (with one F)?

He was found abandoned in some bushes filthy and covered in fleas late one night in mid-July 2024. He’s all grown up, and enjoys car rides, climbing trees, going to new places, and most of all, capybaras. Some believe him to be a goblin or gremlin. He was named after the Pixies song “Space (I Believe In)”.

Jefrey suffers from mild ear-ectile dysfunction.

Originally posted him here back in July 2024 seeking advice for potential health problems due to his folded ears, some /an/ons wanted more of him, and so now you’re stuck with him.

I’ll just tell you which one it was. Guandi Ancestral Temple in Shanxi. And there’s a ton of stray cats in there. My friend and I brought snacks for them all. The orange ones were the friendliest. They’re all hustlers and act sweet to humans in order to get food. The orange ones let you pet them, the white and calico ones were more cautious.

I’m not sure. She was really dirty and covered in road grime, cold and tired. We paid for her to be kept in the vet’s office for 8 days, fed, given medicine, kept warm etc, hopefully til she can regain some strength. Really nice cat, just wanted to curl up in a ball on my lap. After that, no guarantees, vet will see if anyone wants her for free. I’m merely passing thru this place and there’s only so much I can do.

I think it’s mostly a supply and demand issue. Those kind of street dogs are a dime a dozen. They’re also usually extremely skiddish, don’t make for great family pets. That little guy wouldn’t let us even pet him.

What I've wondered is this: as a kid, my half American dad worked for the US foreign service. As such, I lived in four countries on three continents before I was a teenager. And my Shetland sheepdog, Magic, came with us every move. I've wondered if he had any idea just how far he'd traveled/if he knew we were in different countries/if her even knows what countries or continents even are.
The only place he had a bad reaction to was the US. I was born in yurp and we got him when we lived in Virginia briefly. He was a rescue and his former owners abused him badly. But since my mother wasn't in the service because she's not American, she packed us and the dog up and moved us back home after an argument with my dad. Once across the pond, he was much calmer but when we moved back to the US permanently ten years later, near the end of his life, he became aggressive and racist again. Yup. I had a racist mini-Collie who hated black people.
