Funny thing is I wanted to be a scientist, got about halfway through earning my PhD and realized I hated it. I hated writing papers and grants, I hated long hours in the lab. I pursued what I thought was my dream and realized it wasn't for me.
I pivoted to repairing scientific equipment since I was always the guy in the lab that knew how to fix any problem with any of the equipment.

So you turned into a science tech engineer instead?
That's a decent pivot.

I've always wanted to be creative, but I never got to the point of specializing, so I'm all over the place with doing art, writing and performing music, cooking complex tasty foods, building stuff out of up-cycled materials and volunteering at a music venue/hang out spot that I helped found.
All of this doesn't really amalgamate into a job, so I make a living by stocking shelves and helping customers in a supermarket, which is a pretty chill gig at my store.
