Pretty much no linguist accepts this.
Linguistic Relativity is more well accepted, but very very little evidence supports linguistic determinism. Nearly every example, to-date, is better explained by relativity and the Color-Psychology approach to cultures.

Whorf believed if you didn't have a word for something, you couldn't see it.
The refutation to Whorf in the 1950s is more than conclusive. They found that English speakers didn't have a word to represent the different types of snow like Inuits did, where Inuits had 3 separate words for Snow. English speakers were still able, however, to identify and categorize those 3 separate types of snow without assistance, even without a label to give them, instead using whole phrases to discern them: "Hard-Packed" "Soft-Packed." This alone conclusively disproves Linguistic Determinism, because if it was true, we wouldn't expect to see any adaptation. What all of these studies suggest is that Exposure is what arises need, and that's been the long accepted theory of how words and language forms forever. It's the same reason why people in total isolation, without any prior language, will invent a language for communication between others in isolation with them.
If it was determinism, this just simply could not happen.
