The universe is so unfathomably large that 99% of the visual interpretations you see of it in our art, media, even a lot of scientific displays, is done at the wrong scale to make it more comprehensible for us. If this were true then why is the cosmic microwave background radiation uniformly the same temperature in all experiments conducted? Why are all galaxies except andromeda (which is gravitationally very close) flying away from us at speeds exponentially proportional to their distance from us? There isnt a lot of bias in the measurements. The cosmic background radiation is uniform meaning there was likely an expansion event l, that expansion is still happening and this can be measure by the redshift in light from other galaxies.
