I just learned my cousin raped my other cousin (his first cousin) 8 or 9 years back on his birthday. There was a falling out with our families but I didn't really know why--just that the victims family ended up losing themselves hard. A few of them still show up to yearly family events but I can't imagine how difficult it is for them now that I know everyone else decided to forget it all so that he can comfortably live on while she has to try out whatever brand new therapy there is to escape this world.

I talked to her a few times about it. She wants the family to admit to ostrasizing her and "forgetting" what he did. Yeah im uncomfortable with the situation.
