Murder is most likely from someone you know, but that's not a feature of statistics, that's a feature of the way social systems work. It's not that people around you want to kill you, it's that you can't know for certain if someone does or doesn't. It is irrelevant to worry about it until a sign was present.
Like, would you be comfortable enough around a complete stranger to ever end up in a situation where you were simultaneously; Alone, Unaccounted for, Unable to be heard, and Reliant on that stranger for transport or continuance?
Almost never, if not never. The only time someone could reliably murder you is when you're truly unaccounted for, and that almost never happens when you're with someone you don't know, because of "trust."
So it's usually a close friend or family member, because you'd take a ride in their car into the woods to see their vacation house, where they'd murder you.
You wouldn't do that if someone you didn't know offered it.
