How do people survive if they don't work? Are they all living with parents?

Either...
>nepo-baby
>lottery
>high intelligence
It really all comes down to the right mix of circumstances, and how you utilize them.

The reward is not living on the street with the scum of the earth.

I haven't worked for over two years, and live alone in a world-city. Before that I had jobs where I earned reasonably well. I don't have kiss my ass money, but I have enough money to live comfortably, without giving up things for about 5 more years.

I'm also a kind of euro-hikikomori - I rarely go out anywhere, so that doesn't cost money. (I also haven't had any human interaction beside the cashier at the groceries in the past 2 years, which makes me quite anxious about applying for jobs)

My main expenses are food, health insurance and rent. I keep contributing regularly to some open source projects, just in case I will defeat my anxiety in the future, I would start applying for jobs again... (but I have also bought some ropes years ago that I can use to hang myself, if nothing else would work out)

what's your strategy? I personally got lucky with some meme coin, sold when I was up about 200k and just plan to ride it out a few years, but no real idea what to do next besides mimicking the same thing again if market conditions line up. That or maybe swinging bits of bitcoin or options trading

Maybe the tweeter doesn't mean noone is working, but that people are working resentfully. Isn't that what the boomerfluencers mean when they say "noone wants to work anymore"? They are upset that 18-30 year olds aren't falling over themselves begging to be exploited in shitty jobs.

you can live comfortably with little to no income if you know how to stretch it and know where to find low-key things.

A lot of the 'no one wants to work anymore!' crowd mean that nobody is particularly interested in working 18 hour shifts for starvation wages in exchange for a vague promise that the company rewards 'loyalty' . . . eventually . . . probably.
