Now look, I love this country. I was born and raised in the South, where we still tip our hats, say grace before supper, and remember the names of our ancestors. But let’s not kid ourselves. America’s a young nation, barely out of diapers compared to the likes of Russia. While we were carving our place out of the wilderness, Russia had already endured centuries of war, empire, and faith. They survived Mongol hordes, Napoleon’s march, two world wars, and the fall of the Soviets. And through it all, they held onto something we’ve about lost—culture, tradition, and a sense of who they are. They built churches that touch the heavens, wrote books that still shake the soul, and raised generations with pride in their roots.
Meanwhile, here at home, we’re tearing down statues, forgetting our past, and replacing it all with fast food and screen time. Our culture’s on life support, pumped full of noise and nonsense. We need to stop looking at Russia like they’re the villain in some Hollywood flick and start seeing what they really are survivors, with a backbone and a memory. We don’t have to agree with everything they do, but we’d be fools not to respect them. A real alliance between our two nations could be something mighty. America’s got power and drive, no doubt. But Russia’s got soul, history, and a fire that doesn’t die. Maybe it’s time to stop trying to export our emptiness and start learning from folks who still remember where they came from.
