Picrel is the girl who got away.
Ten years ago I was infatuated with her. She was everything that I could possibly hope for in a partner.
We only shared smiles but never spoke.
It has been 10 years and I occasionally look at her IG and this was her latest post.
You have no idea how much I have obsessed over her body, and now the universe taunts me with this. What could have been. I could have spent the last decade worshipping that ass, but I am being punished for not pursuing what I wanted, what I needed.
It’s not cruel, but it’s necessary.
The thing is I’ve been with hotter girls with hotter bods, but it’s the painful “what if” element that’s wrecking me.
My advice to anyone in their mid 20s or younger:
Shoot your shot, unapologetically. If you want something, reach out and grab it. If you don’t get it, then you can rest easy knowing you tried.
The pain of regret living with the fact you never tried is a curse.
