Jerry, if you had infinite power to change anything about the world, cure cancer, clean infinite energy, whatever... but you were also all knowing and wise. Would you be unable to use your power for anything, because you would foresee the consequences of your actions and realise it is best to just let life find its own way?

All OP's idea boils down to is "maybe there's suffering because God isn't actually all powerful, or else is too dumb to realize they can achieve whatever end they're after without all the suffering"
