I'm not sure what to do about the tard question. I think that euthanization is not the answer because it can be abused. Like other laws restricting otherwise 'harmless' or 'good' acts, if you will, the walls are there to prevent abuse because sufficient oversight is practically impossible to implement.
For example I don't believe that most downies should be killed but I know that some are far worse mentally than others.

The industry around keeping people like him alive is fucking sickening. All day they mull around in a studio sized room with a treadmill, a TV, and a couple chairs and tables. No learning, no behavioral training. Pissing and shitting out of anger? Just put a diaper on them. Ripping their clothes apart? Just make mom buy more. These people are incapable of even asking for food without screaming or babbling. And most of them are fatter than me, and I'm 350 pounds on fucking purpose. These people are like wild animals, put a bowl in front of them and they'll eat it all. And the facility I work(ed) at does nothing but enable and prolong this.

Ideally if people like this ought to be kept alive it would be at an inpatient facility. With well paid medical professionals and security with tasers or something. Places like this have no standards. Anyone with a pulse who sits through a video about seizures can be a staff member. Even participants can be paid to work (for $3/hour). You'd think that educational training, medication training, anything would be required but no. As long as you'll change shitty diapers for $16 an hour you get the job.
