After a year on keto. I feel so awful. Super, super thirsty; I drank 5 times the water I normally do during an evening. I feel all weird and energetic like I'm not going to be able to sleep now. It sucks. It tasted okay but not as great as I remember. It felt and tasted kind of "wrong". The pizza itself was a really good one, but my body just didn't want it. But I was stoned and committed to this massive cheat and I finished the fucker.

Learned my lesson. Never again.
I was worried I'd love it and get back into carbs and get fat again but this was exactly the food hangover I needed. I've been on the right path until this.

Thanks, I can't wait to get this out of me. I can tell it's just like a rock in my stomach and my digestion will be off for like 36 hours, but then I might fast for a day and then get back with a big pile of bacon and eggs. But food doesn't seem at all appealing right now. Like nothing at all could tempt me. Not sweets, not anything at all.

I feel like I'm on the edge of barfing at every moment now. I can't believe I ate the whole thing. I just want to sleep it off.
I'm so glad I feel sick though. I used to eat like that all the time back when I was a huge fatass. I've only been on keto for a year but I haven't been obese for a decade. And when eating a carb-heavy diet it's hard to stay even somewhat in shape for someone born to be fat.
It was mostly booze that made my huge though.

I've considered puking it up but I'd feel even worse about the $32 spent on the pizza.

This is your brain eating itself because of the lack of glucose. Great job

I've had six glasses in the last 9 hours and I'm going for more. This sucks. That fucking pizza was heavy too, and now it's all inside me. I can't even reconcile what I've done. It was seriously like a 5 lb pizza. Like the mass of two fast food pizzas from Dominos. It was from one of those mom and pop places with tons of toppings and a dense, fermented crust and extra cheese. WTF was I thinking?

And now out of nowhere I have the sweats. Like I'm soaking through my shirt and have to keep wiping off my face. I don't even live in a hot area and it's early morning. Dammit this was a mistake.

The real keto test will be later this month when the blackberry and raspberry bushes in the neighborhood are bursting with fresh, ripe wild berries.
Of course of all the fruits, the only ones which are kind of allowed on keto are strawberries, blackberries, and raspberries. They have the least sugar. But you don't get to eat buckets of them like are available. I'll hopefully do like last summer and freeze most of them.
I like to make keto milkshake smoothies which contain full fat plain yogurt, heavy cream, unsweetened vanilla almond milk, sugar free Torani hazelnut or vanilla syrup, and frozen berries. It seriously tastes just like a berry milkshake. It's super fatty and these days the splenda syrups are almost indistinguishable from sugar, especially when paired with a fuckload of fat.
That's how I've managed to stay on keto and love it: finding those things that seem like bad food but really aren't.

It's not real keto, no one does that. It's just low carb. Like less than 20 or 30 grams of carbs per day. Real keto is like eating butter and stuff in the hospital. Yeah, it's like Atkins basically. You get your steak with no starch and extra veggies. Lots of fat, no sugar, low carb.

I eat meat, cheese, eggs, fish, nuts, cream, yogurt, and berries.
I even have a piece of multigrain bread or a corn tortilla now and then.

You just don't eat candy and drink sugar sodas and eat a ton of bread and pasta and potatoes and shit.

It's really easy and delicious. And it's not as expensive as people think. In fact, I've found it's cheaper because you eat less. You eat far less because fat is very filling. I don't snack and I eat two big meals a day and I've never been happier. Bacon and eggs with all the fat. Cooking stuff in leftover fats. Cabbage with pork and onions. Chicken thighs in rich sauces. Meatloaf, casseroles, salads. Everything is awesome. I've done weight watchers and all sorts of diets over my life and this is the ONLY one that I've found sustainable and satisfying. I've always been able to lose weight but this is the only time I've kept it off and not felt hungry all the time.
But the pizza was a mistake. Sometimes we need those to remember we're on the right track. Like when I tried drinking again after a few sober years and it was the same disaster as when I quit.

I haven't had problems sticking with it and the pizza just made me more resolved to stay on the wagon. The longer you do it the easier it gets.

Actually seeing results usually helps people stay on the diet, so you should try again knowing it works. But if you're not super overweight maybe don't bother. This is for people who have a really unhealthy relationship with food and overeat all the time. When I was a kid it was just a couple of us and we got made fun of sometimes for it. Now like half of everyone is fat. Most of those people just eat too much junk and sit around, they don't have terrible metabolisms like me. I always struggle just to stay slightly overweight. I've never been and will never be truly 'thin'.
But with low carb at least I'm at a pretty healthy weight and I feel good and consume less.

Maybe you just need better recipes and plans. I admit, if I was one of those on-the-go people it would be harder. But I have lots of time to cook and I can keep garbage out of the house. Temptation can beat anyone. If you live with people who eat like shit or you're constantly around fast food and stuff you'll be more likely to crack.
I found a lot of things I like to eat and I don't expose myself to a lot of triggering foods.

But alcohol is pretty much out. Not only because of the carbs, but because we make terrible choices when drunk. I tried to do low carb and booze at the same time but I kept fucking up when I was loaded or blacked out. And drinking is harder on the body when you don't eat carbs it seemed. So much of it is just beer or wine especially.
