it very well could have... The only problem with that is that IBM started selling keyboards in 1981, so it could have peaked in the 80s. Many consider IBM keyboards to be the best available, and the keyboard hobby sprouted up because of the old IBM boards. There have been a lot of keyboards released since then, but IBM was the undisputed GOAT of keyboards. Nowadays, we have all sorts of designer KBs, like the OGR, 21xx, Diversity and many more. If the world didn't peak in the 80s and 90s, it certainly is now as far as keyboards!

Peak...no, the 90s where the evidence of its encroaching death. Culture peaked in the 50s when you could afford to raise 4 kids a wife and a dog on a single earned income, since then it's gone to shit because there's no interpersonal relationships in families anymore.
