On my third bike rebuild in 2 months - anyone do this?
I really enjoy making old bikes electric and like new, just stripped the stickers off a 90's kona and some RockShox judy's. Maybe tomorrow I will sand the frame and forks down, then spray them.

Then I have to buy and fit an electric kit and apply loads of different stickers.

I do not make much money doing it, but that is not the point, since I cannot work, I like to provide people with this service at virtually no profit. It reminds me of being a teenager in 80s and 90s and building BMXs

I got a full suspension Carrera Banshee for £50 and built that electric, and I am keeping that one.

Do you have any experience with middrive motors? My last bike build was with a bafang mid drive motor 1500 watts and the bike sucked because the chain would either break on me or it would grind gears on the smallest two gears
My next build I will use a wheel hub motor

Never done one of those.
As I understand it there is more power directly, but you seem to have pointed out at what cost that comes.

MTX39 kits are very good, powerful, fast and solid quality hardware, including the controller.

I am currently using a Yose power on my banshee, and it doesn't compare to an MTX39 but the controller is built in to the battery so you do not have to fit a bag to the frame.
But for the price, I cannot grumble I suppose.

If anyone wants a road-legal e-bike in the UK
I will sell it for cost price once I have resprayed and built it. So a couple of weeks maybe.

It's a Kona lava dome race light, with RockShox, decent tires and no disc brakes, it will be about 500 quid.

I can also build high-end laptops at a very good price, and I have 30 years of experience building computers with associated qualifications, so I will do all the hard work and get you a very decent setup for the very best price.

If you have a bike worth a few hundred quid, invest in an OnGuard Rocksolid U lock.

They cannot be gotten through with multiple grinder discs and are better than more expensive locks.

Also a airtag under the seat and you can get your bike back same day.
