I feel so lost. Why did it feel like it was fate pushing us together just for this? If everything happens for a reason, what’s the reason for all this? Your life isn't over. 20% of the human population has it (probably a bit more than that) and even more people have HSV1.

First 1-2 years you'll have 1+ outbreak(s) and after that it will significantly decrease or cease all together. You'll still be a carrier but can only give someone else it while you are actively "shedding".

If you are shedding, don't have sex or jerk it. The medication/pill to stop symptoms isn't worth it IMO. My doctor told me that even while I have an outbreak it's not really necessary to take unless I want the symptoms to stop immediately (but without the pill they will go away on their own in 7-14 days so i didn't really see a point to taking it).

Live your life normally. If you have sex tell your partner so they can make the decision for themselves (again, don't have sex with an active sores/bumps). When the sores/bumps heal, wait 1-3 days to have sex (that's what I do at least).

This chick may have given it to you but you also could have had it prior to her and only now are you having an outbreak.
