do any of you guys have a vivid memory of something you that you can actually remember, but you don't think it actually happened? i remember playing through and beating the final boss of final fantasy 8 as a teenager, but now when i think about it, i'm pretty sure that didn't happen.

Yes, in a way I think. I have two different memories for the same day. One that happened, other that didn't. I also "remember" playing some weird game, but I can't recall it in detail, but the "memory" is there.
