Many metal bands are garbage, there's really only a handful of rock and metal bands that are any good. Most bands just hear a band they like and emulate it, thats why there's so many metal singers that sound like they are gargling marbles. Personally I find metal music repetive and boring rhythmically which is why I play lead and classical music. But I still like the sound and how it makes me feel when I hear it. If you think it sucks thats fine, but there is lots of really good metal music out there.
