I'm an asexual with a preference for men, I think I can shed a little bit of light on this. Men are simply less fucking insane. That and we are naturally more objectively physically attractive.
Whilst I detest sex and have never enjoyed it, I do find myself turned on my the male figure.
It all comes down to personal preference, some people like liver and onion, some don't.
Men just want to get to heart of finding a happy life, women complicate it with filling their lives with abstraction.
