eh, doesn't matter much if it was decades or much less, like 6 months. The body decomps in less than 2 years to a dry husk that has not much odor. It also matters on the climate. The hotter & more humid the climate, the stinkier it might get; the opposite it true, too—the colder and drier it is, the less it smells. The other sad part is the social aspect of this: no one checked on her in her apartment? Was she the owner of the flat or did she rent it from someone? hard to believe the story is real.

Fake. When she missed the 1st or 2nd rent period, the landlord would call the authorities. A landlord is not just going to forget that a tennant isn't paying rent. Rent is how they pay their bills.
