I had an interview to become a car salesman last week, which I was very excited for. The interview place is not the main dealership but an hour away from me. I do the 1.5 hour online assessment, I dress nicely and do my research on the company, ready to tell them why they should hire me. When I arrive are 30 people in a big circle. I explain to some boomers I'm here for my interview, they told me to join the circle. Turns out it wasn't an interview but some shitty team building battle royale for the job. They said it would last all day, so 8 hours. I left immediately. I called up manager of the dealership I applied for, asking for a real 1 to 1 interview. Condescending fucker told me my attitude was bad despite being rightly pissed. I was calm up to the point he told me I lacked understanding of what an 'interview' meant. I'm lost for words. I'm so tired of these companies thinking they can get away with wasting peoples time. I've got some time to kill, what's the best way I can fuck with this company? I've got emails and phone numbers.

A parable. I went for an engineering job once. Two day process with overnight stay. About 20 people after a job. There were IQ tests, aptitude tests, group activities, and then, just as I was getting ready for an early night for an early start (some applicants were getting drunk on the free booze and I could see the company team taking notes) we were given a design problem that we had to come up with a solution to, and present your proposal to the company VP of engineering in the morning (with all the others looking on).
I didn't get that job, but the company did get 20 potential solutions to the engineering problems they posed us, as we each had a different problem to solve. Paid the company back for the hotel, the time and the food/drink, I guess

Car sales is a dogshit job on par with cold calling cell phones to sell home remodeling bullshit. There are some opportunities to make decent money selling cars when the economy heats up, but it's mostly general managers either yelling at you about your numbers or fucking you over in other ways. There are much better sales jobs.

Find some way to be your own boss.
You can literally buy and sell things to people who live near you and make 10x as much in a day than you would in a month if you have the inventory, for example.
Or just keep looking and hopefully the owner or managers are complete pieces of shit.
I gave up looking for jobs after like 20 different interviews where they "couldn't" hire me because of multiple DUI's with drugs years ago, even retail stores.
Anyways, it's way better to do your own thing if you can.
