no one is going to want to play a racing game when fast and furious is boring and not even about racing. there's been a few good racing movies but they're not going to convince anyone to play forza or something.
the games are too complex, there's nothing arcadelike that a non driver can pick up, race, feel good about themselves and enjoy. that doesn't exist.

im an older end of zoomer. i remember playing need for speed, racing games with vehicle combat, watching fast and furious when my older brother had it on, playing forza with my dad.
if i was 8 nowadays, id never get to experience that. racing would be foreign to me.

Your life being tied to an automobile is stressful.
At any point my car can decide oops your transmission doesn't want to work anymore I hope you have five thousand dollars lying around. With out my car, I can't work can't get food can't do fucking anything. Zoomers don't have connections to friends who work on cars as a hobby. For the record, Baby Boomers always knew a guy who knew a guy who was able to fix what's wrong with your car for a pack of beer and a pack of cigarettes.
Insurance is expensive as hell. For full coverage and roadside assistance I'm looking at $195 a month. For a Zoomer that's like a week's worth of doordash. If I could get a remote job, I would sell off my car in an instant. Sadly I'm white so I have the "privilege" of being bound to an automobile for the rest of my life.

I don't have a long commute to work. It's just 10 minutes. I drive less than 5000 miles a year. I hate driving, but little problems add up and end up costing you thousands of dollars. Mechanics rip you off. If you want to change your brakes and know how to do it, it's like $100 for the parts. Want a mechanic to do it? $800 minimum.
