This is pretty urgent. My car has caught a bird, injured it pretty severely, there's no coming back for this guy as far as I can tell. I can't exactly nurse the bird back to health with two cats in the house. What's the most ethical way to end this birds suffering?

I feel pretty strange, I made a religious vow to never take a life, it's the first time I've ever broken it. But, the bird suffered because I opted to own cats, so I feel it was my duty to reduce the birds suffering.
