Yes. The reason why rabbits seem so domesticated is because they are. Rabbits produce a large quantity of meat and fur in a short amount of time for very little feed cost. They also exhibit some intelligence and are very social, meaning they’re also good to breed as pets. Lots of places even have feral rabbit populations that coexist with the same native species and they’re pretty much the same besides looking super cutesy and being less skittish towards people.

The reason why it isn’t a popular meat is because it fell out of favor. Beef used to be much less common until America because the amount of land it takes to traditionally raise cattle. Which is great if you’re trying to make a profit or feed a lot of people. A small homestead isn’t equipped to handle that though, but if you have a bunch of chickens laying eggs and endless generations of rabbits everyone will be eating fine.

no, cattle is way more efficient for mass production and quality of meat. On top of the prime cuts, the cattle is used very efficiently with ground meat and other related products they're turned into. On top of that, beef can keep someone alive if they had to only eat that. Not with rabbit. Rabbits dont have the protein a human needs to function. Rabbit Poisoning/Sickness is a real thing where you could gorge yourself with as much rabbit as you want, the meat cannot provide the protein and fats needed to keep a human alive. It's a rare poisoning since it pretty much only happens to people who are stranded or fighting survival situations where they only can get rabbits for protein. Aside from it not being a nutrient efficient animal, if rabbits were really that good for the pallet and the person, we would have rabbit farms everywhere, not beef farms. Cattle raising is quite easy for the size of the animal. It's huge, but stupid, easily controlled and raised. The weight of meat you get out of a cow to the time investment to it is too great. rabbits are good for maybe small time where you are a trapper, homesteader or like growing your own food. Another thing from the vid, chickens, especially cornish crosses, the common chicken raised for meat, only takes 6-8 weeks to be slaughtered from chick. I raised them myself for slaughter and they were fat fuck growers. They get so fat that they will rather sit by food than walk around if you let them get that big.

Small scale it is. Disease can wipe your stock out frequently. They're also annoying to skin - sometimes the skin just rips and you have to slowly take it off in strips.

you cannot live on rabbits. their meat is missing key shit. if you eat rabbit as your meat only, you actually starve of malnourishment.

>>937028535
where do you get them animal fats, genius? oh wait, cattle, pork etc. you've just squared the fucking circle again. arriving at 'eat cow with extra steps.'

dumbass
