Sometimes it sucks. Like the person you thought was your friend has a personality disorder (narcissism) and they use you in whatever way they can to inflate their own ego until you tell them to fuck off. Even then they don't go quietly.

if its a good one its like talking to someone about things that you like and things that you agree about as well as helping each other

Great if you can be your true self around them. Annoying if they want to hang out all the time. It's more complicated than it seems. There's levels to friendship. A certain thing one friend may laugh at would make another livid. Like romantic relationships some people are lucky enough to meet a friendly match
