This is a linguistic argument. You are choosing a meaning of the word that you can argue against.

The truth is, genetic groupings of human populations very closely match colloquial assignment of race. That is NOT something you would expect a priori. If people claimed that star wars or star trek fandom was super important ...those difference would not show up in genes, because those differences are ACTUALLY what you claim race is.

To put that another way, we have one thing that's "real" and another that isn't real. And we have an objective test to distinguish between them. But your worldview is that they're both the same - your worldview is that there's no more reality to race than there is to star wars fandom. But you're wrong.
