Probably not but it was the solid ticket out of where I grew up. I could honestly see myself still living there but the Army gave me a chance to see the world. The career has been mid at best, but that's largely because I don't believe in myself.

I get it. It was a bit awkward at first so I tended not to bring it up unless I had to. I learned how to answer in a way that didn't presume to pander/assume their intent. I'm not my grandfather's generation of WW2 but a deployment to austere conditions still sucks.
