Looking for advice /b/ox bros. I've got a vintage all-leather travel finger box. It's still in pretty good shape, but I'm worried about the bellows cracking. Its starting to show some real wear around the entrance, too. Any tips on how to keep it serviceable? Also, the internal flange is a little loose. Picrel
>>937341548 (OP)Lather the leather with the cream from one of Andy Sixx's logs while it's still steaming hot. In addition to its medicinal properties, the Loginol can be used for cleaning and restoration as well.
In the meantime, finger box thread, I guess.
>>937341548 (OP)Get some saddle soap to keep from cracking.
Im refurbishing a vintage box now. Using linseed for traditional sake.
>>937341548 (OP)Linseed Oil should help slow down the wear and tear
>>937342147Dude! Is that a genuine revolutionary war finger box?
>>937342168Be careful with that linseed, A little goes a long way! Also, if yours has waxed threads like mine, be careful you don't over-saturate, it can accelerate oxydization of the stitches.
>>937342207No, but it is a civil war era commemorative box sold to help finance Confederate operations in Western Arkansas.
>>937342338Holy shit, is that what I think it is?
>>937342460Defo.
Old trick using denatured alcohol to speed drying time. Bit if you havenโt replaced stitching could cause rapid breakdown.
I used walnut husks to polish.
Fucking whitworth threads got me like !!!!
Crazy Britโs!
How about this rare communal use box from Myanmar. Had a he'll of a time smuggling it out. Pure copper everywhere but the obvious places, of course.

>Fingerbox is an item fad that began on 4chanโs /b/ board sometime in the summer of 2010.
>
>The fad involves someone posting a picture of a Fingerbox with a seemingly genuine question
>or remark, followed by other users acting as if they not only all know what the OP is referring
>to, but have owned one since childhood.
>
>The common discussion points are the number of holes, the materials the box is made of, and different
>custom boxes and their merits.
>
>Inevitably a user finally asks what a Fingerbox is, at which point they will promptly be laughed at
>and called a Newfag.
>>937342881WHY would you do this?
NO fucking fun while you're around, right?
What an asshole noob.
>>937342338I'm sorry but I can't deal with meme materials. I always come back to wood, tradition has its merits. I had a beautiful piece once, made of different types of wood, the feeling was just incredible.
I'm still using my original Albertson & Co piece I got when I was 10. I've had to have the hole resized twice since then and now I'm looking to upgrade. Any recommendations?
>>937342677Too many holes. I know that's the standard in SE Asia but it's still upsetting.
>>937343260What exactly is a newfag and what is the deal with these boxes?
