You stop buying it and keeping it in your house; you respect your circadian rhythm and get a good night sleep every day and block the blue after dark; and you slowly start changing the carbs for fats over a period of 5 months to fix your energy levels

What I do: drink and drink and drink until your guts are so sore just thinking about the stuff makes you flinch.
...
I once lasted almost a whole week using this approach.

Treat it like its a real drug addiction (cause it is.) Throw out all your stuff with caffeine in it (coffee, tea, pills, coke, chocolate has it in it.

You can replace the routine with drinks that are caffeine free (rooibos tea tastes like regular tea but has zero caffeine.)

Don't look for alternatives for energy and motivation since that's just replacing one addiction with another. The point of quitting caffeine is to get stable energy levels by not constantly spiking cortisol and norepinephrine, and getting better sleep. Give it some time, increase nutrition and exercise.

It can be bad for some people. Gene define caffeine sensitivity and clearance time. So some people end up reacting strongly to it or having the caffeine take hours longer to break down. Caffeine also interacts badly with many medications and worsens mental illness symptoms.

the only thing i find wrong with it is that i drink it too fast. i switched to making really weak powered energy drinks. it's like a nice steady caffeine IV throughout the day
