So I really resisted listening to the new Linkin Park. I thought they were just shoehorning in a woman because "its 2025".

But I think, if they had replaced Chester with another guy, everyone would have compared them together, and no one would have been happy. But since his replacement is a woman, we expect the sound to change a bit, and we can't make a 1-to-1 comparison.

And, when I heard 1 or 2 of the new songs on the radio a few times, and it started to click a bit. The songs are good, once you get over that it's not Chester. When I listen to how she sings, I think she really is trying to match his style and sound. I think she is doing her best to be faithful to how Chester would have sung it. And I think that is why I was eventually won over.
