you know crass albums have lyrical sheets and steve ignorant's vocals are completely audible in every crass song? crass even used simplistic music; more so then that cover, intentionally so that the focus was placed on the lyrical content. what you said makes zero sense.

Electro Swing.
Shit popped off around 2016~2020 then died off with covid. The only shit coming out anymore is AI generated slop, or mixes that have the same 20 tracks in them rearranged in different orders.

are you high? its the main area of music keeping the industry going right now.
everyone's doing MDMA and wont shut the fuck up about drum n bass, garage and other sub-genres.
maybe its just where you are living that its not doing well, cuz at least here its the main shit keeping things going. pop music is dead, rock is dead, hip-hop is dead.

Rock as a whole is dead, being absorbed by metal/core shit. Modern rock tracks on the charts are pop-punk or metal.
I guess progressive rock died the most, being carried by niche groups or the 70s guys still putting out albums. Prog-metal has kind of taken it's place, but not in the same culturally relevant way prog rock had during its prime. Tool or Djent will never be used in a documentary the same way Carl Sagan used Pink Floyd's Echoes when talking about early evolution in Cosmos. Or King Crimson (The Devil's Triangle) being used in Dr. Who (Pertwee)
>tfw at one point ELP's Toccata became an unofficial theme song for Saturday Night monster movie showings on TV in the 80s US.
AI can't prog properly so I don't have to worry about the Machine wearing its carcass the same way Motown Soul has been molested.
Actually any other black genre that isn't rap is also more or less dead. Jazz is full of old white Europeans & Asians, Swing for Hipsters, Blues for Faggots, Soul and Funk are flavorings for beats rather than their own big genres anymore.

I think between
>100s of monthly mixes on Youtube
>AIslop
>furries
but by far the biggest contributor was Hipsters sort of dying out with covid.
Their entire identity was going out dressed like a 1980s nerd and being active in the city.
They all sort of hit their early-mid 30s around the time Covid happened forcing them all indoors.

Music peaked in the 90s. The last time a real new genera of music arose with generational defining uniqueness. Since, the internet has killed off the sort of isolation needed for unique art forms to evolve.
Any musician +2k is competing with and influenced by every other musician since music was first written down and later recorded. They don't just learn and compete with their peers in ways that will define a generation, they learn and compete with every musician from Bach to the Beatles to Nirvana and everyone in between, and are much more influenced by the superficial and easy "click like and subscribe" of the internet for attention.
Sure there is still art, very good art, being made, but it's submerged in a sea of bland, soulless trash pumped out for likes.

music in general is dead. industry plants abound, you can only make corporate approved music anymore if you expect to get any kind of attention or accolades for your work. for some people, they don't care as long as they get that paper, but I'm sure a lot of artists who are under the thumb of some contractual obligation feel trapped and unable to express themselves, an ironic slave mentality when music should be about free expression.

AIslop will eventually replace actual artists anyway I guess so it probably doesn't matter.

the golden age of thrash was from 1982-1985
it started sucking around 1986, mostly because "master of puppets" was a commercial album
iron maiden fell off around that time as well, "seventh son of a seventh son" was boring nonsense
megadeth's "so far so good so what" was a good album but thrash was on its way out by that point, and "rust in peace" was just terrible
"rust in peace" came out in 1990....nothing after that was any good at all, and that was 35 fucking years ago
all that "metal revival" shit that started coming out around 2000, stuff like slipknot, korn, deftones, and all that nonsense, was fucking terrible
and it paved the way for bands that were even worse, stuff like devil wears prada, all that remains, august burns red, killswitch engage, all that bullshit
bands like lamb of god, suicide silence, in flames, etc. are terrible as well
all of that shit fucking sucks, it's just the heavy metal version of my chemical romance
metal hasn't been relevant for about 40 years at this point
it needs to fucking die

The golden age of rock was 1955 to 1964. Everything before that was just blues. It took the greasers of the 1950s to bring some edge to what the blues almost accomplished but then the hippies came along and ruined it.
Everything after that has just been corporate processed plastic garbage.
Any music before that 1955 never quite lived up to the potential and anything after 1964 was just plastic processed garbage at best or hippie feelgood kumbaya circlejerk nonsense at worst.

Actually no, blues was the ultimate culmination of the music arts. "Rock and roll" was the corruption and bastardization of the blues, which is objectively the only good genre, and ultimately the best music genre of all time. With the invention of the electric guitar, the final piece to the puzzle, the keystone of you will, was dropped into place and the blues thrived for a time before being hijacked my white thugs and their corporate masters to twist and pervert the blues into rock and even the cancerous bastardization of the blues known as c**ntry, which can't even really be considered music.

You're all just a bunch of smelly plebs. The blues was nothing more than tacking modern musical techniques onto the old African American spirituals. Parallel to his, we had jazz with its improvisation and while the blues and jazz do share much cultural cross pollination, they are both ultimately inferior to the predecessor of jazz, which is orchestral music. The greatest composers who ever existed already lived their lives and passed away before our grandparents were even born. Nothing within the last 100 years will ever reach the heights of the greats such as Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Bach, Beethoven. There's a reason it's called "classical" music. Everything after that is just plain garbage.

But you see, that's where you're wrong. Beethoven et al were just hacks. One does not need a full orchestra in an opera house or whatever it is you heathens do.
There was a time when many people were able to play an instrument and something as simple as a harp or a flute played in the home was rightfully understood to be the epitome of musicality. No grand halls for the excessive sound of walls of strings to echo across. No large crowds of patricians burning money to see orchestras of faceless people in their offensive finery, sawing at their cellos and blasting their euphoniums in a deafening cacophony.
Just music. Pure, simple, and personal.

Thou spitteth in the face of THe LoRd with thy profane din. Music is a gift from THe LoRd, intended only to praise Him, raise up His name, and to glorify Him on high.
The holy chants of the monks are among the few acceptable forms of music that might soothe the souls of the troubled sinners and bring them back to THe LoRd, who counteth the fall of every sparrow in His Book of Life.
The Church is charged with the sacred responsibility of bringing the lost sheep back to the fold and spreading the good news of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Son of our LoRd. Therefore, only the church may be tasked with crafting the notes, the melodies, and the rhythms of the joyful nose, with which we glorify our God, THe LoRd.
All other treacherous sounds from the unwashed sinners is blasphemous and is offensive to the ears of THe LoRd.
Yea, verily, I say unto the, any "music" that cometh not from the church, is an affront to THe LoRd and leads only down the path of Satan, condemning the listener to eternal damnation in the fiery depths of Hell.
I'm Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

I'm not adhering to the spiritual/soulfulness of metal, merely what sound it emulates, as of right now, I see more Sleep Token, Motionless In White, and other assorted faggotry as the "popular" picks. The charts deem it metal, er go I use those as my case.
