Streetlights were better when they were orange.

When did these change? Around what year? Sometime in the 2010s?

Sodium lights are much better for stargazing because you can just filter out a narrow band of orange light to negate light pollution. They suck for visibility though.

Depends where you live. They're getting phased out by LED but some areas still use pisslamps. I've been places that have had three different types of streetlamp on the same street.

I had blue lampposts in rural New England, but I also don't remember them being THAT blue

They should make them all blacklights so everyone can see the splattered ejaculate of the homeless everywhere.

Nothing beats running on freshly fallen undisturbed snow in the dark morning lit up by the orange lights.
The atmosphere was very peaceful and just nice to experience. Genuinely depressing that newer generations won't get to experience it.

4 years ago they started replacing the ones on the roads I ran, there was one stretch that had orange for a while which was always nice.

Doesn't matter much, anything going fast so cars, have lights. The orange didn't interfere with night vision making roads safer and the lights helped drivers.
Turning roads into white lighted shit did nothing but create light pollution and was a sign of everything becoming monotone and shit. Imo it's the first example of enshittification.

Made people stay up much later while outside though. I hardly see anyone outside at night now. That's even when it's super hot and muggy that makes people not be able to sleep. Phones contribute to that lack of night walkers, of course.
