who cares how they built the pyramids. a better question is why aren't we building more now?

Just think about it for more than two seconds. The pyramids, while cool as fuck, served no practical purpose other than to make the Pharaoh look good. We could build them today, but that would be billions invested in a monument that, in reality, doesn’t serve much purpose other than to look cool. We are much better served using that money to invest into public infrastructure and other actually important things.

(Obviously many countries still build useless big moments instead of useful shit for dick waving purpose, but usually only ever in the context where they can commodify them. Ie: giant corporate offices and tourist traps
