>>937489338 (OP)I Sold car parts at a dealer for over 10 years. There is a difference between the "Made in Mexico" and K&N are HUGE. Besides the fact that you can buy a cleaning kit for the K&N, they are just better filters all around.
Fram are terrible filters, but people buy them cause they are cheap. Cheap is ok, but if you care about your vehicle but K&N and clean the filter. The basic filter you get at a lube shop is made in Mexico. The one the dealer sells you, made in Mexico. I don't have anything against Mexico, but 70$ for a filter that lasts 4 months is not good value. The K&N is about 80$ but the cleaning kit is $20 WAY better value for a way better filter.
As far as oil filters go... K&N unless your factory filter has a pressure valve. The Valve keeps the oil filter full so you don't have any dry starts. Seeing as the oil filter has to fill up first, then distribute oil to the engine. Oil filters that are inverse or sideways are the worst for dry starts.
Anyways do what you want, but filters make all the difference when it comes to keeping your engine running smooth..
