I don't know how that's relevant but everything he can get his hands on, currently ungodly amounts of cocaine, ampethamines and benzos.

Thats sad anon. Thanks.

With what is he trying to kill himself? Also is he really trying or are you just thinking if he keeps going this will kill him?

When sober he doesn't want to die, but he rarely is anymore. He's had multiple close encounters with death already, including one time where he almost cut his foot off because he kicked a glass window in. He's suffered multiple psychotic breaks and those usually come with bodily injuries as well, for example through altercations with the police. Every time could be the last time.

Drugs are usually not the root problem.

My best friend recently died after drinking himself to death and was apparently popping pills towards the end of it all. It fucking sucks man but there’s truly nothing you can do besides prepare yourself for the inevitable call. If they wanted help they’d reach out and you can never make an addict get better. They have to want it

Tell your friend you love him and hate to lose him but the path he's on, that's what is happening

Yes, but the attitude towards drugs just causes people to get further away from society, making the original problem worse. Drug addiction is a problem, but not even close to whatever made you have that self-destructive behavior in the first place.

I only have (very rare) suicidal thoughts when sober, i love life when high.

It would be very sad if he kills himself during a drug induced mania and actually doesnt have a deathwish when sober. That would be a tragedy. Idk how you could tell him this but he must know he doesnt actually want to off himself when sober

Couldn't get a job?
Couldn't find meaningful love?
Couldn't find lasting purpose?
Do you want him to live in suffering for even more time?

The thing is he does know it's a problem, he's been to rehab multiple times. But his addiction is always stronger than his will eventually.

Drugs are a horrible coping mechanism, they never solve anything and always create more problems.

No she died after about a year battling. Honestly I can’t even give you advice some people you try and lead them to water but they don’t drink. Theyre on their own path because of their own demons. When your friend dies don’t be sad, and he will die from how it seems. If there’s anything, if you really want to keep him alive I can kinda say is anything less than full 24/7 physical monitoring and physical force to prevent drugs is probably not gonna work and even then thats not practical. this is as someone who was very active and the main person in helping an addict

Depends on what's legal in your country. Find out from Rehab facilities and shit like that. Some chemists may also be able to help you.

i agree with him on the hard drugs, but i also know that if you have an addict in your family there is nothing that can be done.
