I have heard that homeless people live under covered raised decks. Or atleast that they build little homes under there to spend the night. They wait until dark to sneak into there through a hole. And then in the morning they sit there, watch you and your family leave the house and then sneak away once it's all clear. Only to come back every evening.

When I lived in San Diego there was at least one illegal immigrant sleeping under my deck. Put up chicken wire to keep them out.

People have done it. Sometime they sneak into attics too. Its not like there are a lot of places to go without being chased off so they find somewhere out of sight and out of the weather.
