The flood of amateur porn happened on the whole internet and not just here. It correlates to the rise of smart phones more than any other factor in my opinion. it started going downhill in 2005 when people from the WoW general forums came here due to the popularity of the ascii o rly owl that leaked out of 4chan. forced anonymous stoking raiding since anon couldnt argue with tripfags also brought undesirable outsiders, but overall things did not get too bad until chanology.
the first big uptick in porn threads on /b/ was when the jailbait threads became popular. for a while it was a shitload of that and that i think is what replaced the typical random bullshit that was common up till then.
Basically everything is the fault of people who migrated to 4chan for /b/ and did not just use /b/ as an off topic board after coming here for other boards like /a/ or /h/
its been shit ever since, and has actually recovered a little bit since its lowest low

Porn has always been around, it's actually tamer than it used to be. You had under 18s horny posting all the time back 15+ years ago.
