I get job offers just above minimum wage for entry-level labor. No one is hiring for skilled positions.
But in May I gathered the scrap wood around and house, a bucket of old screws, spent time goofing around with my table saw and drill press. Made some silly cottagecore/craftsman mini-shelves, boxes, and "hat" hooks. Set up on etsy and forgot about it for several weeks until my email was flooded and I sold out within a few days. Packed and shipped and quickly made more. I netted almost $20k in 2 months. This month is looking good too.
I'm riding this wave until it washes out on the beach, it has me excitedly planning my next business project.
