This is what the Confederates did during the civil war when the Union blockade prevented them from importing Coffee from South America or whatever. There is no blockade currently, but the tariffs are making the price of coffee skyrocket. Some states like Hawaii can and do grow some coffee, but its nowhere near enough to meet the demand. That's where Chicory comes in. You might have it growing wild in your backyard as we speak. Why pay for coffee when you can make your own for free just like the Confederates did back in the good old days?

Funny but chicory coffee was very popular in poland back in time, pretty much always served in hospitals and for kids. It's very delicious and Im drinking one rn.
I love coffee but chicory coffee is great and cheap alternative.
