They don't resell a $50 card for $50 they sell them for $35 or some other amount less than the face value of the card. The scammers get the card for free so anything they sell it for is profitable, and the end buyer gets it for less than market rate (and are unlikely to ask questions or care that it's stolen because the deal is so good). Are you retarded or do you simply not understand the concept of fencing stolen goods?

I like to imagine a group of indians begging to their Chinese overlords to let them keep a chunk of the scam profits to make a JIDF (Jeet Internet Defense Force) because their poor image internationally is a matter or national security at this point.
I imagine several buildings full of men and women, running damage control on the big platforms to try and turn back the tide, only to destroy their image even further, coming across as petty, frustrated little people, raging over some dumb jokes online.
