bro - here is the key difference:
Most democrats or democrat leaning people would like to see the files and if there are democrats in it (which there likely are) would like to see them punished, along with the republicans or libertarians or communists or whomever.
When Clinton is shown to have been finger banging a 12 year old, while pissing on a 14 year old (Bill, Hilary or Chelsea - it makes no difference), we would like to see him publicly shamed and sent to prison.
We would also like to see the same happen with Trump or whomever.
democrats may have liked Clnton or Biden or Obama as a president, but also don't think they are messiahs and realize that they are people and should be treated as citizens that are subject to the laws, even if those laws are inconvenient.
Compare this to Trump supporters who change their "principles" whenever Trump/Fox/Newsmax/etc tell them to.
CiP: my FiL sends out a group text every morning. During Obama and Biden, after either of them would issue an "executive order" it was fascist and a sign that they are dictators who are unwilling to work with Republicans to get laws made. Now Trump "has to issue Executive Orders because the Democrats are stonewalling."
I mean sure, the Dems are stonewalling, but it is still dictatorial for a President to bypass the legislature and incumbent upon him to work with the opposition party to find common ground. It is either wrong to govern via executive edict or it isn't, regardless of who is doing it.
