Ask an enlightened being anything
Hello, I am "classically enlightened" like the buddha was or countless other people. First I should explain what enlightenment is. It has quite literally nothing to do with any kind of magic or mythology. its all categorically wrong and actually believing such nonsense is a symptom of not being enlightened.
Enlightenment is simply noticing that you aren't your thoughts and experiences. You are rather the experiencer. You have precisely zero agency. You can't do anything. You only notice. That's the only verb you are capable of. Things just happen, nothing happens to "you" but because there is no "you". the existence of a "you" is confusion. Through meditation, or just noticing, you can discover this (tragically) extremely obvious fact. Belief is not required because you will notice it for yourself the moment you start looking, and I am here to help you with this. lets start.
First, think of a city. any city. notice that the answer just appears in your mind. If you were to ask "why did I think of this city?" more thoughts would just appear in your mind. But you aren't thinking them. They just appear in your awareness. In order to actually be the author of a thought, how could it possibly just pop up? there'd have to be some weird infinite regress where you think about what you're going to think about before you think it, and on and on. but this is actually reversed. You think a thought, and then more thinking happens afterward to explain and create a narrative around why "you" thought something. Just notice that its backwards. You thought of a city, and then AFTER you came up with a story about why you thought that city. A story is all it is.
You are stuck in an illusion of the thought world. Just notice that thoughts are not reality, but rather a layer the mind is placing on top of experience. This is a good first step. there's much more, but eventually you can get that cliche "one-with-everything" feeling you hear about sometimes.
Please guys, ask me anything..
