I'm 42 and I've never worked a 9-5 in my life. I've worked 7A-3P, 6A-6P, 6P-6A, 8P-6A, 10P-6A, 8A-5P, 5A-5P, 2P-10P, but never 9-5. I don't think that shift even exists.
If you can get three 12 hour shifts and have it count as full time that's the best. Four 10's is good too.

I would question that too. While customer facing jobs are frequently 9-5, back office workers, including managers have usually a more flexible schedule: come whenever, leave when you want, just make sure your work is done, or you we chew a new asshole for you.
