I'm sitting in the dark because I don't have the energy to reach over and flip on the light switch.

In the darkness my eyes shine.

I should've skipped one of my Florida vacations and had a new heating and cooling system installed. A heat pump just doesn't cut it when the temperature has wide swings.

I sleep 9 hours, I'm tired.
I sleep 10 hours, I'm tired.
I sleep 8 hours or less, I'm dead on my feet.

Even with a space heater, I find myself sleeping in a cold room until it's time for heat to flood the room.

At its worst, it's what I refer to as, "Five minutes in the fridge, five minutes in the oven."

I can wake up cold, but also covered in my own sweat from when the heat last ran (and ran).

I had a good space heater a few years ago. If I wanted a room kept at 70 degrees, it kept it at 70 degrees.

But I dropped it less than two feet from the floor and it shattered the internal mechanisms. It lights up, it clicks, but it no longer heats.
