A little bit outdated, but here's my settlement so far. The farmstead has an oat field now. I'm trying to only grow crops that would grow in a cold climate for immersion and so I can establish trade networks with Create trains and boats between towns. I have a climate band mod so I have to go south to reach the warmer areas. Where I am now is basically Canada/Siberia-ish climate. My main goal is to build a launch complex near the equator and build a city on Mars. I did a lot of work ensuring that resources like water for electrolysis and thorium for nuclear power are accessible on Mars, and the other planets have different resources. I spent a day configuring the ore excavation mod to allow for actual renewable water mining on Mars. With Create and the Thirst mod, you have to mine ice, melt it, filter it, and then either process it through electrolysis for oxygen or for drinking. Oddly enough, my favourite thing that I added was a soundtrack for each planet. I made it so specific tracks only play on each planet. I selected 20-ish tracks from SpaceEngine and cleaned them up and normalised them, and I also added my own song for Mars.

Yeah. I spent like six months planning and putting together this modpack. I'm kinda just doing a playtest but it will also be my main world because everything I change now will be minor additions and fixes. Also no shaders, they don't work well with space mods.

Minecraft feels more Oppressive because of the beefy mountains and the vacuous caves. It is no longer "cozy" where YOU are "god" of this world and are impelled to make it come to life.
You see that mountain over there as big as Everest? Yeah, try and make THAT on your own! How can you compete with that?
The mountain is the focal point and not YOUR creations. It's as if Minecraft turned the player into an ant, insignificant against the mighty world generation that does all the "impressive terraforming" for you and Without You. That your creations are just tacked on blemishes against the beauty of the world gen. It makes me sad and feel completely disconnected as I have to try and strain myself to make my builds flow more seamlessly into the landscapes (most humans want to preserve nature around their homes and thus this instinct is carried over when we play Minecraft) It feels bad when you want to make something but have to destroy a pretty hillside.
Not only that but also an Over-Abundance of little points of interests scattered around in what feels like every 20 or so chunks. Shipwrecks, ruined portals, witch huts. villages (which used to be a rare sight) underwater ruins etc. They are too numerous and are places for easy loot. Why? Now Minecraft feels like a Linear game, going from point of interest A to point of interest B, etc. etc. Endless Distractions.
The world is already populated.... It doesn't need you anymore....... I hate that this game gives off the same vibe as in real life. The world is already full and your intervention ultimately is meaningless...
TL;DR: Minecraft is no longer your blank canvas. It is now a frustrating/constricting picture where by you add your creativity on an already crowded and finished canvas...

Overworld feels finished yeah like being a kid, given an empty paper to draw or a very detailed coloring book with instructions. Hostile mobs are ass and more of an annoyance than danger, though pillagers hit hard. No-sleep demons or whatever are also bullshit mobs, otherwise they only put non functional useless ones like pandas and those lava walker pigs. A sheep or cow still has reason to be kept on a farm.
I could go on, maybe it's just autism, but 1.2.5 simplicity was leagues better. It's convoluted now, pointless items and mechanics, and also niggers and women skins instead of Steve on advertisement. Very faggot company.
