When automobiles first appeared on the roads, there was this theory. Basically it went that driving anywhere over like 40 kilometers an hour would cause people to become irrational and act aggressive and insane because of its effects on the brain.

I don't think that theory is far off from the truth. Driving is the most dangerous thing most people will ever do in their life. When you're on a one lane highway and someone passes by you, you are less than 3 or 4 feet from being absolutely destroyed by that car. Consciously it does not register because a car passing is a common occurrence. I think that subconsciously, though, your brain is well aware of the danger you are in and this reflects that anxiety and tension which often leads to road rage.

That being said, not everyone drives like a retard. Just most of them.
