I've been sober for a year and it fucking sucks. It's like life on boring mode.
Everything is better with a buzz. It makes life bearable. People told me it would get better after 6 months. It has only gotten worse.
Sobriety is a meme. Called my coke dealer and bought a bottle. im gonna go on an absolute bender.
Might die, but at least I'll be having fun.

I love psychs but it's not possible, for me at least, to engage with society in any acceptable manner while on them. I really just miss things like having a drink with dinner or while socializing. I've felt like an outcast everywhere I go. It's not fun, and I've tried hanging out with the sober crowd and they're arrogant and I sufferable pricks who base their entire life around how great it is to be sober and look down upon anyone who dares to actually enjoy themselves when in reality they are white knuckling through their entire life lying to themselves that playing bingo or some shit at an aa meeting is actually a good time.

i think you'd find it easier and more logical to be sober if you can find people you fit in with
just remember there's people who aren't pricks atleast, and know they wouldn't want you to be drinking either

i always wanted to go on a uhh camping trip somewhere for like a week, but i haven't had the opportunity yet
with a group of friends i mean

I used to be able to game all night long and have a great time.
Now an hour goes by and I'm over it. Same with movies I can't even get through one movie without getting bored.

I feel ya bro. But I almost miss the sleepless nights the anxiety brought me.
The painful part is that once that part subsides, you realize that life doesn't get better.
Everything is just so dull. Things I used to love i.e playing golf, going to concerts, watching a baseball game, even sex..just don't have the 'zing' that they used to. Everything just seems like a way to kill time until death. I don't look forward to anything because of how underwhelming the activity ends up feeling.
Maybe I've fried my dopamine receptors, but if that's true, I'd rather continue to add oil rather than run it low.

that's the hardest part. All of the 'sober' events are either filled with Ned Flanders personalities, or dry drunks in denial of their own misery. It's a very tough crowd. The tension at these meetups, whether its softball or aa meetings or anything that is billed as a sober gathering, is palpable.

Uh, you feel that way because you were hanging out with other recovering alcoholics. You need to hang out with people who were never alcoholics at all.

Try hanging out with gymrats then. They seem like cool people, and they are usually sober if they are serious about fitness. Alcohol suppresses muscle growth, ontop of being all around unhealthy, so gym people stay away from alcohol.
