When adults want to tell adult stories, they use live-action. Why are Citizen Kane and the Godfather not animated? Why would they be? It's a serious, grounded, human story, so it can be told with live-action humans. If the story is worth telling, it can be told in live-action. Animation is an embellishment for children. Animated movies and shows can still tell heartfelt stories, like Prince of Egypt or Batman TAS, but ultimately it's always for children and isn't on the same level as live-action adult-oriented cinema

Last time I watch a recent anime release and was just that one on that season was the reincarnated as a slime one.
There's even any good decent title coming out? any seinen? any good drama? I'm not expecting something on the same level as angel beats, but decent to watch. I try to watch the one about the red power ranger going to another world. Super generic plot line, like come on now, this type of shit has existed since the 80's, fucking 40 years of this shit.
Fushigi Yugi was even a reverse harem anime, probably the first or one of the first of it kind.

Lord of the Mysteries is actually peak fiction and it’s getting an animation but who knows if it will be as good as the novel. That’s the main one a lot of people are looking forward to this season. Even with the English translation holding it back, it’s very good. The English dub seems to want to capture the Victorian era feeling by the voice actors having accents.

It seems like it's a chinese anime? They even have a name for that now? Well, if you gonna consume chink stuff, I would keep with their novels, those are decent. Much better than anime and manga, one of the reasons why I don't miss it too much is because I replace my anime/manga consumption with xianxia/wuxia novels. MC has a clear a harem, developed a family, grow until unfathom levels. If fantasy has a final destination would be unironically the chink novels.
They try to adapt some to anime in the past but it has being underwhelming. I would prefer to watch in english dub than chinese. chinese doesn't sound as nice as japanese, that's just a fact. And I read my chink books in english anyway, kek.

That is kinda the point. It requires minimal engagement so I can just use what I see as a basic framework for my own fantasies as I stare blankly at the screen.
I understand aphantasia or whatever the apple rotating meme is seems to be common, but I have a vivid fantasy that is easily triggered.
For higher quality manga I have to pay attention and process things, but with isekais I might as well be looking at a random assortment of coherent fantasy images.
It's a skeleton of a plot and world to enjoy in my head.
