You ever notice the same people who lament about the past being lost and having nostalgia for it are also the same people who think progress, no matter what, is the way of the future and is always good because of hecken science and social justice?

I know most people do not like the past being lost. The point I was trying to get across is that some people hold contradictions in their heart. They do not question "progress" as long as its presented in the right way yet they have sorrow that things are changing for the worst and therefore hold nostalgia.

It's like people missing that malls are closing down yet they buy junk they don't need off of Amazon, a company they hate and that they know abuses workers. This is just one example without going in too deep.

every time you make this thread you bring up two completely unrelated groups with little to no overlap

That is what could be applied back in the 80's and 90's. You can still have traditional values with increasing technology and economic growth. The issue, as what I said before, was how it was presented. Sending all those factories over to China was very short term growth for long term decay, while not a direct cause to diminishing traditional values it paved the way for it to be attacked and destroyed just by being weakened now.

No, the real issue populists have today is they refuse to fight for and stand up for their values for the fear of social and economic punishment only to be punished anyway for existing. That is why they struggle in so many other countries.

Fair. It's good that you try and avoid things you dislike when you can. The main goal is to avoid contradictions in your life. That is how you find peace. The problem is many people do not realize they are doing a contradiction themselves which leads to madness. Your soul knows when things are not in order even if your brain doesn't.

What do you mean, every time? Also I find it funny that you think its two unrelated groups. You just haven't dug in deep enough to realize it. And that's why certain people get so angry, they know they are being called out but can't face it.

This is why I hate talking in labels, between changing times, countries and personal views. A lot of people still haven't moved on from the early 2000's when it comes to politics, see the shitty new Devil May Cry netflix anime, which the show would have been correct and edgy like Team America if it was in fact released in 2003. But now it's just preaching to the choir and tired.
