that being said, there are immutable factors which make the US stronger than other nations, regardless of how fucked it actually is.
huge amount of farmland, $200 trillion of the $800 trillion world economy, access to both oceans, large-scale infrastructure, etc.
at this point, it's basically like living in a south american country but slightly nicer and with more opportunity.
